The detached house in question (Detached House) is a luxurious minimal construction of 2022, with an area of 280 sq.m. on a plot-land of 424 sq.m. and is located in the southern suburbs in the KORBI area of Vari-Varkiza.
The single-family house consists of three levels: On the ground floor, the spaces are separated in an architecturally functional way, so that although they are on the same level, all the spaces maintain their independence. A special feature of the Detached house is the living room, which is two floors high (about 6.5m), directly connected to the dining room, while the kitchen is independent and in a vertical arrangement with them. On this level there is 1 master bedroom overlooking the pool. On the first floor there are two bedrooms with one bathroom, spacious terraces and what is really worth mentioning is the so-called "walkway" (bridge) that connects the two bedrooms with the rest of the 1st floor space, i.e. with the elevator, the office and the internal stairway. In the basement there is a WC, mechanical and auxiliary spaces, such as a 2-seater garage, a swimming pool engine room (large autonomous and independent space), a storage room, a heat pump area, a washing machine, a dryer, etc.
One of the important elements of the Detached House is undoubtedly its swimming pool. It is a 14m x 4m rectangular water element constructed in Gamma Overflow pool, also known as Infinity-Edge Pool. The volume of water it is called upon to support is approximately 130 m3, with a depth that varies between 1.0m and 2.5m (at its deepest point). It is characteristic that the depth of 2.5m is realized along a length of approximately 7.5 meters. The swimming pool of the detached house is the central entertainment area of the family, and blends harmoniously with the garden that surrounds it.
Vehicles enter from the left end of the plot, pedestrians enter the plot from the right end, with a path towards the entrance of the house that traces a linear exterior space.
The building has been placed on the plot in such a way that it breathes everywhere, leaving the necessary gaps from the surrounding houses. The spaces of the single-family house are oriented towards the South, especially the openings are large (the central opening/glass is 9.40m long) and were chosen so as to provide the maximum perimeter views as well as the needs for optimal natural lighting.
The identity of the building, which classifies it as a special architectural design residence, is that it consists of horizontal parallel diagonal lines (minimal character), which give the desired effect-Swallow shape, as they produce the volume of the building creating a beautiful dynamic sloping cantilever on the ground floor.
